Molybdenum
There is no Reference Nutrient Intake for molybdenum, but the American RDA is 45 micrograms.
Molybdenum is an essential trace element found in the kidneys, bone, blood vessels, skin and liver.
Actions:
It is involved in metabolising food, helps healthy growth and development and aids iron and its uses.
Where do you get it?
You find it in whole grains, pulses, sweet potatoes, rice, liver, kidney, chicken, green vegetables, fruit and seafood.
Too much:
Excessive intake is rare.
Too little:
Little practical information is available on deficiency.
Supplement:
Since the amount we need is small, a reasonable diet should yield enough. A good multi-vitamin and mineral preparation will bolster the intake.
